Elder Michael Butler, Sr. was saved at the tender age of 15 under the Pastorate of the late Pastor Mamie C. Rennick at Ishi Pentecostal Temple (PAW) in Winston-Salem , NC .

At the age of 22, Elder Butler was called into the ministry and has preached extensively throughout North and South Carolina , and Virginia . He has held many positions in the assembly on both the local and state levels, which prepared him for what God was going to do in his life.

In 1985 it was requested by the late Pastor of Christ Temple Apostolic Church in Hickory, NC; Elder Harry L. Rink and the members, that Elder Butler come and minister twice a month due to Elder Rink's declining health. After several months of commuting to Hickory from Winston-Salem, he moved to Hickory. After months of laboring he was installed as Pastor of Christ Temple. Much labor went into reestablishing and organizing this ministry and many souls were saved during this time. In April of 2001 Elder Butler moved back to Winston - Salem North Carolina due to personal family reasons.

In March of 2004, due to Pastor Butler's love for God and his passion for people, the call to pastor was still very much alive. On March 7th, Emmanuel Apostolic Church held its first service. This ministry started with four adults and is yet growing. God has done some wonderful things for us . We are expecting many more miracles and blessings to follow. Pastor Butler affirms that now surely is the time to trust God like never before!

The Emmanuel Church family is "A Ministry Determined to Build Lives and Live for Christ." We are convinced that God is with us and except the Lord builds the house we labor in vain. Pastor Butler also affirms, no matter what the season, test or storm God always remains faithful and His mercies are renewed every morning. And as long as we have God's approval we can do all things through Christ which strengthens us, for our God can do anything!

We believe the Bible to be the inspired and only infallible word of God, written by holy men of old as they were moved by the Holy Ghost. (2 Peter 1:20-21}

We believe in one God who is infinite in power, Holy in nature, attributes and purpose: omnipotent, omniscient and omnipresent. We believe that He was revealed to us, Father in creation, Son in redemption and Holy Ghost in His comforting grace that never leaves those that trusts in Him.

We believe that in Jesus Christ dwells all the fulness of the Godhead bodily, for it pleased the Father that in Him should all the fullness dwell. {Colossians 2:9; Colossians 1:19}

We believe that the only means of being cleansed from sin is through repentence, faith in the precious blood of Jesus Christ and being baptized in water in Jesus' name. {Acts 2:38}

We believe that the baptism of the Holy Ghost according to Acts 2:4 is essential for all believers, and that speaking with other tongues as the Spirit of God gives utterance is the initial evidence of this baptism.
